Renew
Replace the licence before it expires. No restart, no downtime.
Ask your 3AM contact for a renewed licence before expires_at. Install it exactly like the first one
(Install the licence). The fingerprint stays the same, so no new request details are needed.
Grace period
After expires_at, 3AM keeps working normally for the grace period (14 days unless agreed otherwise). The
console's Settings page shows in grace period: renew now, GET /v1/status reports "in_grace": true, and the
audit log records system.licence_in_grace.
After the grace period, 3AM returns to setup mode: it stops watching and acting until a valid licence is
installed. Your data, settings and audit log are kept. The audit log records system.licence_lapsed.
3AM re-checks its licence every hour, so these changes happen within an hour, without a restart.
No restart needed
